Overview
A mobile companion that turns a temple visit into a guided cultural experience.
Set in Hong Kong's Wong Tai Sin Temple, Tindao helps visitors discover ritual spots around them, understand traditions like Kau Cim through step-by-step explanations in three languages (EN / 中文 / 粵語), ask questions to an AI temple guide, and support the temple through a transparent micro-donation flow.
"Explore, understand, support."
ConceptTemples like Wong Tai Sin attract millions of visitors, but most experience them superficially: rituals look fascinating yet remain opaque, signage is limited, language is a barrier for tourists, and there is no clear, trusted way to contribute to the temple's preservation.
Tindao bridges this gap with four connected experiences: location-aware discovery of nearby ritual spots, AR scanning that recognizes points of interest in the courtyard, plain-language ritual explainers in EN / 中文 / 粵語, an AI temple guide for questions on deities and etiquette, and a transparent 3-step donation flow with a shareable donor certificate.
Figma (UX/UI, flow prototyping), user journey mapping, AR interaction design, conversational UI design, donation/service flow design.
Key Features
Ritual spots ranked by distance in steps (e.g. "20 Steps"), with a live map showing the user's position.
Point the camera at the courtyard: Tindao recognizes the point of interest in view and surfaces a contextual card with a link to its detail.
A plain-language description of each ritual plus a step-by-step "How it works" guide, switchable between EN / 中文 / 粵語.
A chatbot with quick questions — "What does this deity represent?", "Can I take photos here?" — answering on deities, rituals and etiquette.
A 3-step flow — choose your impact, pick an amount and payment method, add a personal meaning — ending in a shareable donor certificate with the year's total raised.

AR Scanning
Each spot opens into an immersive detail page — an introduction to the practice, a language selector (EN / 中文 / 粵語), and a "How it works" guide breaking the ritual into simple steps. For anything left unanswered, Master Tin 天師, the AI temple guide, is one tap away.

Design Notes
A warm orange-to-red gradient — lanterns, incense, tradition — sits on neutral, light backgrounds. Typography is bold and rounded, cards use a generous corner radius, and CTAs are pill-shaped with the signature gradient. Trilingualism (EN / 中文 / 粵語) is treated as a core accessibility principle, not an afterthought.
What Makes Tindao Different
AR and an AI temple guide replace confusing signage, without disrupting the spiritual atmosphere.
Every explainer and every ritual is available in EN / 中文 / 粵語 from the first screen.
Every donation ends in a certificate showing exactly where the money goes.
